Kampala (SDN)-Hundreds of Somali Transitional Federal Government soldiers have completed a training regimen in Kampala, Uganda. The soldiers are expected to use their new training to root-out and eradicate the radical Al-Shabaab group from the insecure region.
Almost 1000 soldiers have been based in Kampala for training led by army General Abdiqaadir Sheekh Ali Diini and other TFG officals. European Union officials also took part in the conclusion of the exercise. According to George-Marc Andre an official with the EU, the coalition has plans to train up to 3000 more Somali soliders in 2012 in order to improve the capacity of Somalia’s armed forces and help secure the peace-seeking nation.
