Borama 27.October 2013 (SDN)- Deputy Attorney general of Somaliland Mr. Adan Ahmed Musa has arrived at Borama town earlier today.
The main objectives of his journey was to to monitor and evaluate the overall situation of prisoners and custodial work performance as well as to visit and review local and regional Justice departments
He first has paid an official visit to the central Jail to monitor and evaluate the overall situation of prisoners and custodial work performance.
During his observation, at Borama Central Jail he met with the heard of Jail Mr. Siciid Xuseen Caynaan , who explained challenges and needed recourses to tackle
“ We have a large number of prisoners in the Jail and there are no enough rooms to stay as you can see in addition there is no any medical drugs available in the store “ .Mr Sacid explained ,
The Deputy Attorney general of Somaliland Mr. Adan Ahmed Musa has also met with regional appeal court officers where he asked the main reasons that prisoners is not being brought to the court earlier , where they told that the main problem underline the lack of court facilities and prisoners delivery tracks
Finally the Deputy Attorney has received reports from local and regional justice department officers where they both highlighted the facts ,constraints hinders the courts services
All in all the Deputy Attorney general of Somaliland Mr. Adan Ahmed Musa , has witnessed that more than 222 prisoners are held in Borama Jail where 100 of them are waiting to be brought their cases to the courts.
