Somaliland Delegation meets Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister

Addis Ababa, Sep 20, 2013 (SDN) – Somaliland delegation in Addis Ababa led by Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed Bihi Yonis have met Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom and discussed issues pertaining security, development and trade ties between the two countries, according to press release issued on Friday by Somaliland’s Presidential Spokesman Mr. Ahmed Saleban Dhuhul.

The press release reads: “A ministerial level Somaliland delegation in Addis Ababa led by Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed Bihi Yonis and accompanied by interior minister Ali Mohamed Waranade, Aviation minister Mohamoud Hashi Abdi and Somaliland ambassador in Ethiopia Adam Nuh Dhule have met Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom and discussed issues pertaining security, development and trade ties between the two countries. The officials from both parties have deeply discussed the historical ties between Somaliland/Ethiopia. Both parties have also agreed to enhance the mutual understanding of the two states and cooperate with each other in the issues including security, economy, development, politics, and education as well as restarting Ethiopian Airline flights to Somaliland”.

Somaliland delegation traveled to Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa following the indefinite suspension of flights to Somaliland by Ethiopian airlines ten days ago.
