Who staffer killed in a recent Hotel attack in Mogadishu

Geneva June 12, 2023 (QJ) -The World Health Organization has confirmed the death of one of its staff in the recent attack carried out by Al-Shabaab on the Pearl Beach Hotel in Lido Beach in Mogadishu.

The attack began with a car bombing, followed by a fierce gun battle as armed individuals affiliated with Al-Shabaab stormed the premises.

Tedros Adhanom, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, expressed his condolences in a tweet, acknowledging the loss of one of their staff members in the recent attack in Mogadishu, Somalia.

He extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of all those who lost their lives in the attack.

The Director-General of the World Health Organization reaffirmed their commitment to the safety and security of healthcare workers.

At least 9 people were killed, and several others were injured in the attack claimed by the Al-Shabaab group.
