The history of Somali traditional sultanas dated back from 1300 in the Georgian calendar. As every one of us aware, the purpose of bring into being the motivation of sultans is keeping and establishing
a close relationship between the members of their clan, look the matters of internal concerns, chairs in the event get-together ceremonies are necessary to be conducted by the clan members and establishing a dialogue on other sultan if necessary.
However, nowadays the above vision has totally been faded away in most cases and that visualization has
been substituted with a new one having a fresh agenda, which is based on self interest and personal gains. This is exactly what we observe at the present time in Somaliland. We witness on various occasions sultans who calls for media to declare political statements as they are political leaders
or party officials.
Instead of serving the internal matters of their clan members, they behalf, as they are nominated as political leaders. Instead of serving the wide-ranging benefit of their clans, contrary,
they divide the society into various camps, which damages the relation between members
of the clan. Clan interest and political interest are two matters, which never move
in a same direction.
Commenting our issue of concern, the so called sultans that issued political statement in Hargeisa on Friday, July 20, 2013 that spoke out against the new political body announced in Hargeisa in
reality represent only themselves and not even a friction of their clan members.
Therefore, any announcement from their end is considered by the public as pointless and worthless and insignificant. They are branded by the public as contracted sultans.
As an independent observer, the popularity of the new National salvage coalition is gradually gaining daily attractiveness and those against them contrarily did even achieve a fractional rate of Somaliland
society.
We argue them to continue their voice in an effort of serving the broad-spectrum interest of the society. In the absences of moon, stars are helpful. In other words when constitutional bodies have failed fulfilling their responsibilities and protecting the interest of the society, then, there is no political body left to speak on behalf of the public other the new one announced in Hargeisa. It appears that victory is at
sight.
