A Political Assassination Took Place in Baidawo

Baidawa,  South-West Administration of Somalia – The most famous and influential traditional elder Chief Ali Abdi Eido and his wife have been assassinated in Baidawa. An unidentified armed men have carried out the mission, despite the fact that, the traditional elder and his wife were present inside their house at the time of the killing. nuunow and sakin

Chief Ali was a prominent traditional elder who participated the peace and reconciliation process in Baidawa for the last twenty four years. He was a well-known wise man, but not neutral. His killing is somehow related to the politics between Nuunow and Sharif who both believe to have the legitimacy of Baidawa administration. Even though, Mogadishu and the neighbouring countries of Ethiopia and Kenya recognised Sharif’s Presidency.

The newly established divided administration in that particular region declared that they captured four suspects in affiliation with the killings.

These kind of assassinations are normal to Mogadishu, Baidawa Kismayo and elsewhere in the South Central Somalia. Although, politicians and government members refer all kinds of assassinations to Al-Shabab.

It is somehow obvious that there is gang formation existence, where special hitmen who are active within every place in the South Central and Puntland are available to carry out such killings, after when they receive payments from government or other rivalry politicians.

Al-Shabab is very famous with car explosives, attacking government buildings and suicidal bombings in the crowd public areas. The lack of central functioning government and poverty caused these catastrophic incidents in Somalia. There are no predictions and strategies on when and how these prolonged problems being solved.
