Five suspected Shabab militants captured in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (SDN) Somali security forces in Mogadishu captured militants suspected in recent skirmishes in the restive capital of Somalia.

Somali ministry of security spokesman Mohamed Yusuf Osman told reporters that the forces acted on a tip conducted the sweep and arrested five Shabab suspects.

The spokesman also told the press that the forces also capture ammunition and vehicles in the operation.

Mr. Yusuf also spoke to the fact that the Government troops will continue their operations and will curtail any Al Shabab attacks with the help of the public.

Somalia’s poorly trained and paid Troops are themselves a hindrance to peace and are recently accused of kidnaping women for AMISOM troops.

Al Shabab did neither denied nor acknowledged the arrested in the latest Somali troops sweeps in Mogadishu.

It is not know who the arrested men are but the sweep comes after days of unrest in the Capital.
