Somali Diasporas living in Norway are making a political progress while many of them have joined into national political parties in Norway. Abdullahi Mohamed Alas is a Somali-Norwegian citizen and politician living in Norway’s capital, Oslo for thirty years.
Alas who spoke to Radio Dalsan on the phone said he relieved being a Somali-Norwegian politician and member of the Norway’s Labor Party.
“I am glad to be both Somali and Norwegian man. I am greatly indebted to the people of Norway and their government as I am educated and lived in their country for three decades.” he said.
Mr. Alas said thet despite lived, earned and educated in Norway, he would rather like to return back to Somalia in order to help the recovery of his country after many years of civil wars and anarchy.
He has praised six Somali origin members on local councils in Norway while he has anticipated that soon Somali MPS in the Norway’s national parliament will be found.
“Somalis in Norway are more enthusiasticand more open than other Somali diasporas in Africa and in Arabs.” Alas concluded.
