Somalia urgently needs $1.42 billion to address the severe drought crisis, as announced during the launch of the 2025 Humanitarian Action Plan.
Nearly 6 million people require assistance, with 4.57 million targeted for emergency aid. Vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons and marginalized communities, are prioritized.
The drought has led to over 200,000 displaced people, the loss of 1.4 million livestock, and a state of emergency declared after the seasonal rains failed.
The Somali government, along with international and local organizations, is seeking a collaborative solution to address the crisis.
