Hargeisa, 20 Nov 2013 (SDN) -At least five people have been killed and 14 others were injured in two-car crash west of Hargeisa, officials say. A Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) owned by SOMCABLE Company travelling from Borama collided head on with a truck travelling from Hargeisa on Tuesday around 5:00 PM at Makhayda Inanta village, 10 kms west of Hargeisa.
The impact of the collision caused the SOMCABLE owned SUV to leave the roadway and flip before the vehicle came to rest in a wooded area. Police says those killed in the SUV include the chief engineer of SOMCABLE Adam and Mohamoud Aw Saed Geedi, brother of well-known businessman and the owner of SOMCABLE Company Mohamed Saed Geedi.
Two other senior staff of SOMCABLE Omer Salah and Sawahili received life-threatening injuries and were air-lifted to neighboring Djibouti where other injured people were transported to Hargeisa’s main hospital.
