Eel-Hadi, Oct 14, 2013 (SDN) –A family’s joy turned to grief when the bridegroom’s brother opened fire on a wedding party in Eel-Hadi village near Arabsiyo, killing four of the guests and injuring nine others. As reported by Hadhwanaagnews.com the incidents occurred yesterday night as the victims were enjoying on the dance floor, when the bridegroom’s brother believed to be insane pulled out an AK-47 gun and shot randomly among the guests killing four women and injuring nine others.
The horror started to dawn on those around the victims, who only seconds earlier had been happily dancing away; the perpetrator put the gun back in the belt of his trousers and fled the scene.
Mukhtar Fanah, an eye witness who spoke to Hadhwanaagnews told that he has seen the bodies of the four dead girls and the nine injured.
“This was weird and strange incident to the minds and ears of the Somaliland people. It is the first time that a man came to a wedding ceremony and kills innocent people.” Fanah told to Hadhwanaagnews.
Fanah also added, “It was 11:00 pm at night. People were enjoying and dancing, unfortunately bridegroom’s brother suddenly opened fire to the guests resulting the death of four girls and the injury of nine others. It was shocking incident and the wedding ceremony turned into funeral”.
There is no official report released by the police of Gabiley region.
It is the first time that such tragic incident happens in Somaliland for the last 22 years of its existence.
