Hargeisa, Oct 22, 2013 (SDN) –The opposition Justice and Welfare party (UCID) parliamentarian Mohamed Farah Qabile, narrowly escaped from assassination attempt after unknown attacker armed with a pistol begun firing at him Monday night at Jigjiga yar district in Hargeisa, relatives of the MP told Berberanews.
As reported by Berberanews.com the parliamentarianhad a miraculous escape after the bullet missed him. The armed man fled the site immediately, Berberanews further said. There is no official statement from the police and attempts made by Berberanews to reach the parliamentarian failed.
It’s not yet clear the motive behind the reported assassination attempt of the opposition legislator, but MP Qabile is a leading critic of president Silanyo’s administration.
Recently MP Qabile has said while speaking to Geeska Afrika newspaper that president Silanyo should have undergo a medical test to certain his health status and in order to know if he is capable to make sound judgment in his day to day work.
