Hargeisa, Sep 18, 2013 (SDN) -Chaos has erupted in Somaliland’s House of Representatives today during a debate over the Roads development act which was brought before the House in order to ratify.
The House’s speaker Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi known as “Irro” had to call the police in order restore order in the house as ruling party Kulmiye and opposition party Waddani legislators brawled. Fist-fighting broke out when Waddani opposition MP Ibrahim Mahdi Buba and ruling party Kulmiye MP Ahmed Abdi Kijandhe put each other in headlocks and wrestled on the floor of the legislature.
Waddani opposition Party legislators, who oppose the ratification of the Roads Act, resorted to fist fight in a bid to stave off a vote on the bill.
