I have the habit of revealing to the public my daily diary whether good incidents that encounter me and bad rememberable experience as well. Taken this into consideration, I would like commenting about an event that I have experienced early this week, regarding three men closed by blood, who are deficient with regard respect.
Respect is a positive feeling of esteem or defence for person or either entity and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem. Respect can be a specific feeling of regard for the actual qualities of the one respected.Respect can be both given and or received. Depending on an individual’s cultural reference frame, respect can be something that is earned. Respect is often thought of as earned or built over time. Often, continued caring interactions are required to maintain or increase feelings of respect among individuals. Some people earn the respect of individuals by assisting others or playing important social roles. Politeness is best expressed as the practical application of good manners or traditional custom.
It is a culturally defined phenomenon, and therefore what is considered polite in one culture can sometimes be quite rude or simply eccentric in another cultural context.
While the goal of politeness is to make all of the parties relaxed and comfortable with one another, these culturally defined standards at times may be manipulated to inflict shame on designated party.A guest is person who spends some time at another person’s home in some social activity, as a visit, dinner, or party and the manner expected to be treated to him is like distancing any acts that divides or create conflicts.
Unfortunately, a group consist of three persons of a same sub clan, which I assuming being to my relatives, but proved to be my foe. Generally the Somalis regardless of any region, district, village or nomadic life shares common culture with respect to hospitality or how to welcome your guest.Contrarily, the guys that I was sitting with them early this week blamed me for events which occurred decades ago, which I have no contribution if at all that truly occurred. they have demonstrated all the bad pictures of tribalism. As all us knowledge tribalism is a other form of ethnic group-ism , as the same divides societies into different interest groups.
In reality the word or definition respect, politeness or guest was missing from their dictionary, brain or mental picture. The event that I have witnessed this week is similar to the stories we hear about from the period of stone age, which man was depending on his muscle power and moral value was absent.
Stone Age is prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make implements with a sharp edge, a point, or a percussion surface. The period lasted roughly 3.4 million years, and ended between 6000 BCE and 2000 BCE.Although possibly millions of years had passed from period of the Stone age, yet, I have observed a number of persons among the Somalis that, their mentality is similar to these of the Stone age even at present. those of us who read or about the stories that used to occur at the period of stone age learned that, the moral value was absent.
Tribalism reflects strong ethnic or cultural identities that separate people into groups and making them loyal to people only to one group and suspicious of outsiders, which undermines efforts to forge common cause across groups. Some social scientists say that in-group/out-group biases are hard-wired into the human brain. Even without overt prejudice, it is cognitively convenient for people to sort items into categories and respond based on what is usually associated with those categories, a form of statistical discrimination. What have practically wittiness -ed reminds me stories, which I believed cannot happen in real life.
The wide spread culture among Somalis everywhere in the globe is making friends with others had you have an opportunity meeting any one and that is considered as good culture, that matches with our Islamic principles and value. The three men that I meet the other night lack entirely this definition. The whole night, they were singing slogans that were great sub-clan in past and remain sub clan in the future. That reminds the chaos the Somalis have everywhere nowadays which appears to be never ending, since there are still thousands of men similar to the three men that I have talked about. I could have crash them only by few words, but I come to conclusion that, it is not worth responding to avoid being of identical mentality. As three men represent one of the Somali-land political parties, I am wondering how they could capture or influence supporters if their behavior with others encourages contrary.
Ismail lugweyne.
