Former Speaker of Somaliland’s House of Representatives, Ambassador Qaybe Dies

Hargeisa, 26 Nov 2013 (SDN) -The former speaker of Somaliland’s House of Representatives, Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Adan (Qaybe), has died in Hargeisa.  Ambassador Qaybe, 84, died in Hargeisa’s main Hospital at about 6:30 am on Tuesday. A formidable politician, Ambassador Qaybe was the Speaker of Somaliland’s House of Representatives from 1997 to 2005. Also Ambassador Qaybe was the last Foreign Minister of Siyad Barre’s regime. The late Ambassador will be buried tomorrow in Hargeisa.

Meanwhile, Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud (Silanyo) has on today sent a message of condolence to the family, friends and to the Somaliland nation at large on death of the late Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Adan (Qaybe).

President Silanyo said in his condolence message, “The Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Adan (Qaybe) will be remembered as a peace loving person who worked hard in promoting peace and also one of the Architects of the current democratic system which this country stands on to the Somaliland nation at large,”
May Allah (SWT) bless his soul our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time .His untimely death is a great loss to his family and to the Somaliland nation at large.
Similarly, the editor and the staff of Qurbejoog are sending their heart-felt condolences to the family, friends and to the Somaliland nation at large on death of late Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Adan (Qaybe).
