Dear Supporters and members,
Somali Women’s Circle Network (SWCN) invites you to join us for our upcoming event entitled “Promoting Security of Somali women: Give rights, Gain justice.” This event will be held on Saturday December 7 at 5:00-10:00 pm at Ben Franklin Place (Council Chamber). Please see the attached flyer and kindly share widely with your networks.
Our guest of honour is Batulo Sheikh Ahmed Gabale, Exec. Director of the Somali National Women’s Organization. She is also a fellow Somali-Canadian and is originally from Toronto. Batulo is visiting us from Mogadishu and is coming to share with us the progress she and her team have made since taking office about a year ago. She is also looking forward to hearing your suggestions on creative ways she could improve the safety and security of Somali young girls and women back home. There will also be other various speakers and talented entertainers from Ottawa community.
Here is a clip of Batulo’s inauguration in Mogadishu. !http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLEHAlsxFcQ
